Santa Barbara Botanic Garden

Post by daiv »

Well I haven't been on the forum because we went up to Santa Barbara this weekend. Although we didn't go for this purpose, we did get to check out the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. I would recommend the visit if anyone is ever up that way, however, not if your goal is to see cacti. The "desert garden" was rather small and most of the cacti looked like they would rather be somewhere else. I've attached two shots below of this garden:

I got a good opuntia shot, that I'll post later for Bill

Great, its nice having someone think of the old man an his opuntia :) .

Nice shots of cactus but I agree about them being happier somewhere else. Those opuntia and cholla are just begging to come live with me

Yeah, I only wish I could get more commentary like that. Ferguson was very gracious in taking the time to review my Opuntia pages. I've come into contact with some other genera specific "experts", but Ferguson was the only one to take the time to help me out in detail.

Any ideas on how to get some of these guys to bite? :)
