I have continued to repot various ages of asterias.
12 miracle kabutos which sowed seeds in 2012 were selected for the repotting last night.
The photo is selected miracle kabutos in 6.5 cm square pots. They will be moved in 8 cm square pots.

They removed from pots in this morning. A typical one just removed from the pot.
The pot was filled up by roots in 2 years.

Removed soil, roots are all fines.

Looks amazing as always. I just planted some Texas asterias and superkabutos yesterday, if mine look half as good in 6 years I'll be happy.

The gene of Calles kabuto was mixed in miracle kabuto during its development.

Calles kabuto grows quickly and reaches a large diameter, 20 cm.
Because of that, some miracle kabuto gow quickly and reach 20 cm in diameter.

Cool, I've never heard of the miracle kabuto. Well I'll probably try to graft a couple of my superkabutos, so I should have some decent ones in a few years or so. I've never run into zeolite or scoria but it seems to be working pretty well for you, I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

G'morning cosmotoad,

I think Japanese have not released miracle kabutos so many to other countries and you are not familiar with.
You can confirm a true super kabuto when they are 1 year old but a miracle kabuto needs 5~6 years.

I repotted miracle kabutos posted on 9th. They are in 8 cm square pots.
Image

The character of miracle is started to shown in these ages but it is a mutation of flecking and you do not know the actual timing.
A miracle kabuto has started to show the character.

A miracle kabuto has not started to show the character yet.

Matured plants which are not able to expect further size up are potted in large independent pots.
I added 22 plants in this week.
They all were sown seeds in 2003~ 2005.

Selected miracle kabutos posted on 16th October were moved in 8 cm square pots in this morning.
I have continued repotting which I has to do in this season every year.
They are sown seeds in 2012 and the current sizes are 6~7 cm in diameter.
They are all flowering size and age.

All fungi formed over potting -mix top were removed and watered seedlings from top.
Seedlings were sown seeds in 2016 and 2017.

I have read this entire thread at least twice over the past couple years. Sorry if this question has been asked.

Do you know the name/model of these pots:

G'morning Aloinopsis,

These pots are "square plastic pot", made in Australia and I use 4 sizes.
6.5, 8.0, 9.0 and 12.5 cm are used in my place.

Square pot is not common in here.
I buy these pots from the manufacturer by mail order.

Miracle kabutos grow slowly and become whiter in winter.
The photo is a miracle kabuto sown seed in 2012, 7 cm in diameter.
It is a flowering size of miracle kabuto.

How many years until that sort of flecking shows up?

In Japan I saw plants for sale that were star-shaped like this but not nearly as heavily flecked called Mirakuru. I thought that meant miracle, but I was probably wrong. They were probably under 2 years old, and I thought the characteristics spots didn't show up until later.
