It's always so interesting to see those asterias develop flowering areoles between the ribs.

It's always so interesting to see those asterias develop flowering areoles between the ribs.
Several old asterias which are more than 15 years old show same flowering locations in my place.
The attached photo is a 17 years old super kabuto.
The body is a starfish shape and so rib-bottoms are pushed up more than rib-tops.
Flowerig buds come out from rib-bottom.

I could not see so many cacti flowers but 3 super kabutos were in flower.

A leuchtenbergia principis was in flower in this morning. I have two plants, same age but just one was in flower.

Just one cactus was in flower in this morning, which was a hybrid, Turbinicarpus alonsoi x Strombocactus disciformis.

Two ariocarpus fissuratus f Big Bend were in flower yesterday afternoon. I bought seeds and sowed in 2003.
It is late summer in here and still hot days have continued. It seems they know daylight time has been shoter.

An ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower was in flower yesterday afternoon.
Retusus related species are normally in flower late autumn in here but it was not.
