Yes I did. Rooting of Off-set is not difficult. In case of this species, tap roots are regrow.
The attached photo was taken in 2010, which are rooted off-sets.

Thank for your information. I have never gotten seeds of luethyi and so I have never seen seedling.
It depends upon which country you live in but it is hard to get seeds of new cacti species in here.

My friend gave me an off-set and I grafted it. Since it was possible to graft a tubercle of luethyi, I could increase quantity.

The photo of the tubercle garfting is attached for your information.

I have not experienced to grow from seed but it can not say by one word.
M. luethyi is very similar to M. theresae which means it is not easy but not difficult. I had several theresae before luethyi came and so I thought it was not difficult.

Yes, not particularly difficult, but slow growing. Plants grown from seed develop large thick taproot (I'd say 3/4 of the plant is below ground, if not more) so substrate should be very free draining to avoid rot. They do love regular watering during the growing season.
M. theresae is more robust species, easier to grow in my experience.

taking the opportunity to make my first post at same time, so hello..

great pictures, only on most recent page going to spend a couple hours going through here, just a quick q what camera are you using might need to improve my camera skills soon enough got one of my own soon to flower !! once again, great pictures hana.. !!
