Some pictures taken today.
It is late fall here and many species are starting to bloom in the dry period.
I was particularly surprised by the beauty of the Epithelantha.
Pictures of
Epithelantha micromeris subs greggii
Mammillaria schiedeana
Mammillaria schwarzii
Mammillaria moeller-valdeziana
Mammillaria albata
Euphorbia tulearensis
Weingartia neumanniana

The Epithelanthas are lovely and the flowers so delicate! And as mentioned before, love the way they are potted, with the rocks in the pot. It looks a lot more ‘alive and real’, than the ‘traditional’ potting methods, who often looks very sterile.

mmcavall wrote: Thu Jul 21, 2016 11:57 pm I joined the forum about two months ago. Since then, I've been actively involved, sometimes helping IDing succulents, but most of the time asking for the help of the experts here. So I realized it would be nice to show my greenhouse and collection.

That is my new and modest greenhouse. It is 2,80 x 4,00 m and was made with very cheap material. The arches are formed by PVC tubes that wear rebars stucked on the ground. As we don't have severe winters here, this greenhouse was made just to protect the plants from constant summer rains.
The tables were not so cheap, but I hope they will last 20 years...

The left tables take sun all day long, while the right tables are shaded during the morning.

On the left tables, there are the plants I don't consider as of my collection. They are Sedums, Echeverias, et all., which I propagate to sell locally. I use them to make succulent arrangements (which can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/suculentarium/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). The little money collected is used to purchase pots or more interesting plants.

A view of these plants:

The right side harbours my collection, which is very modest (although my ambitions are not). Some views of my collection and some plants featured:

Even with all the advantages of square plastic pots, I prefer clay pots or cement pots I do myself.

I like to have my plants in displays trying to mimic nature, such as the few ones here:

Huernia sp.:

Sedum dasyphyllum:

Aloe juvena:

My next step will be growing from seed. I have a set of cacti and mesembs seeds, and soon I'll be posting a new thread to ask for help with this. I'm thinking about purchasing some Euphorbia, Stapeliads and Cauduciformis...it is never ending!

I hope you guys have enjoyed my stuff,

Cheers,
WOW!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!! Beautiful!!!!! You are so creative.

Thank you for the inspiration

Would you be willing to share some close-up photos of your construction of your greenhouse especially how you have it mounted in the ground? Impressive Sir.

Thanks Zimi, JCcares and Keith for kind comments
Keith: I would love to hike in the desert and bring home some gravel and rocks. I do it wherever I can but it lacks for me a desert where I could go... only boring places near me.

JCcares : this older greenhouse doesn't existis anymore but I will draw it and post here. I have been little busier these days...come back soon. Thanks for the interest.

I love your Euphorbia tulearensis. Did it expand outwardly over time? Mine is only a single stem and it is way more exposed than yours. I didn't think it was as exposed as it is.

I bought it bare root last Aug 2021 and this is what it looked like:

This is how I potted it, thinking the area where there is an obvious textural difference on the stem was the old soil line.

Hi Jerry. I have two E. tulearensis from seeds. Same batch but while this one grew fine and relatively fast (they were sowed in 2017), the otherone is still very small with two or three leaves only. So yes they expand outwardly but this may not happen to all plants.
I agree with you in relation to how deep bury your plant. And indeed it looks like it grew this "trunk" exposed from the beginning .

Interesting that two plants grow so differently. I sure hope mine does branch out. I am thinking it was grown from seed. I'll have to ask the grower. I just need to remember to do it!

I agree on the planting depth. I might have given it a little smaller pot, though. It looks like a narrow, deep pot would be appropriate - though it may be too late to straighten out that tap root.
