Opuntia ficus-indica and O. tuna

I already checked. I don't live in the right region for grocery stores to carry them. :(

You're in northern California, right? Perhaps a roadtrip to Medford would be in order. If not, there's always people selling pads on ebay.

Well, carrying produce from Oregon into California is illegal, even though everyone I know does it all the time, so just to be a good boyscout I think I'll avoid doing that. I did happen to get some O. tuna fruit at a bodega in Redding, CA this morning. I'm pretty excited about propagating them.

I know this is an old thread, but maybe somebody searching will find this helpful

Winco sells this as 'cactus leaf' (but they're more properly called nopal). They're pretty cheap, $1.80-2.20/lb
