One astrophytum hybrid was in flower in this morning.

Scion: Reddish flowering capricorne x red flowering asterias
I could confirmed the flower colour as "red' but the body shape is not capticorne.

Several fruits of Ariocarpus fissuratus cv godzilla are pushed up.
Since I can see 10 fruits in total, I may be able to collect around 200 seeds.
Seeds will be sown in this season.

Good morning Frank!!!

Amazing post and info as always!

I do have a question, it is regarding the fertilization for Pereskiopsis that have a Scion on them, what do you feed them and how often?

I use old chiken manure pellet which is more than 2 years old. Pellet is kept in a plastic box and water from time to time.
After a stock is potted, the top of soil is covered by the pellet.

The pellet will disappear gradually by watering.
Pellet will be added when pellet on top of soil is diappeared.

I graft seedlings which are new species for me.
The grafting gives early flowering and many flowers. As the result, I can harvest many seeds earlier.
The photo is Ariocarpus fissuratus cv Godzilla.
2~3 days after flower opening, stigma opens and pollen turns to powdally when is the best timing of the pollination.

I have several Strombocactus disciformis. Do you eventually de-graft them and re-root them?

I have not grafted mine.
