Ive had those Split Rocks for 2-3 months now. Anyone knows what happened with them?
They were in cactus soil when I bought them. I took as much as possible soil off and repotted them in pumice. They must been watered twice only since I got them.
I started seeing the lower leaves mushing up. I just thought it was a regular process where new leaves take water from old ones. But ended up being just way too soft.

Re: What is happening with my Split Rocks?
That's rot. No saving it now.
Re: What is happening with my Split Rocks?
Don't feel too bad, Sandra. A lot of us have a lost a lot of plants that way. Next time you'll know what to look for when you buy your new ones!
Re: What is happening with my Split Rocks?
If theres a small rot found at early stage, is there something to do about it?
Re: What is happening with my Split Rocks?
For Pleiospilos and Lithops? No. Mushy means rot, which will kill it. If it were on the top (for some reason) you could cut off the rotting top part. But for the bottom, there is no way to save it now. Cutting off the rot will not result in new roots.
Re: What is happening with my Split Rocks?
its really touch and go with rot. If you buy it, and its small you could dust it with powdered sulfur which could kill the rot. I've been wondering if there is more that I could do during transplant of new plants.
