Greetings from a first time cactus owner
I’m rather excited about having recently brought home my first few cactus. I’m hoping the information I’ve found on here will help me to keep them alive through the British winter and hopefully add to my collection!

Hi from Nottingham UK.
There is a very good BCSS Branch in Oxford and they put on a good cactus and succulent show every year. If you ask them they will help you with any problems.

I have stopped watering my cacti in the greenhouse now in Nottingham and they will go cool (a few degrees above freezing) and dry until March. Unfortunately you cannot do that in a centrally heated house where you need to keep them in full light to avoid etiolation and just give a tiny amount of water about once a month.
