Here's some evidence of collecting odd forms of Ariocarpi - this is an Ariocarpus agavoides var. sanluisensis VM 797 seedling! Payed quite a bit extra for eventual spines on the areoles...
Sown March 2nd, 12015!

Thank you! It certainly helps that I built an insulated grow box for these guys. Ariocarpi seem to respond well to heat.

Anyways, here's a seedling that predates said grow box (and is very small as such): Ariocarpus scapharostris sown on March 6th, 12013!

Yes, Arios love heat!! That scaph is pretty nice too, I think that is the slowest Ario that I've grown...

In terms of absolute size, I think A. kotschoubeyanus takes the lead for slowest growing out of the Arios.... but it could also be the conditions I used to grow them in. My larger scaph has outgrown them, and it is a younger plant!

Anyways, today we have something from a different genus sown on New Years this year! Here's a Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus ref 1832!

Here's one of my older grown-from-seed plants: it's an Astrophytum asterias 'Red Flower' from February 14th, 12012!
I wouldn't call it a seedling anymore...

I am unsure when I sowed this one (have to look around), but here's an Ariocarpus retusus ssp trigonus elongatus red flowered, Ref 3740 that is less than 5 years old.

To start off this week (I am a bit late) here's an Adromischus marianiae herrei that I got a few years ago at a show!
Pretty cool to see how those little bumps on the leaves look IMHO!

For today we have a Pyrrhocactus sp. sown on Christmas Day, 12018! This one was photographed in the baggie as I don't want mold to contaminate it.

An example of my laziness: Here's a pot overflowing with Ariocarpus fissuratus v. hintonii Ref 1889 as I didn't expect this level of success. They were sown Feb 17th, 12015!

For today, we have some Matucana ritteri that was finally sown after leaving it around for 3 years. They grow much faster than my usual seedlings (well, since my usual is Ariocarpus) Sown Aug. 23rd, 12018!

Here's a Mammillaira I bought a few years ago on discount! After introducing it to the appropriate amount of sun, I have a literal crown of spines on my hands (many spines are actually bent from trying to grow under other ones!

Another one of my mature plants - here is my reliable Gymnocalycium anisitsii -...or similar- in winter rest! It seems to keep the small developing buds well and it freely flowers when it can.
