Help to save the tiny one

Post by yukomkom »

Hi guys, recently my cacti had rotted but I managed to save a tiny baby. I do want to save it, can you please help me? Is it possible to save it?

I am not sure, if your tiny cactus can be saved or not. The base does not look good at all, i.e. it seems to be recessed and blackened (perhaps an indication of a rot) and the whitish fluffy stuff around the rim could be a mold fungus. There is not much that can be cut back in order to arrive at a healthy part. If it does mean that much to you and at least part of the offset is still salvageable, you could try to graft a tubercle.

Hi Harald, I'm sorry I didn't mention it. Black is an activated coal I used to disinfect and white it's a 'fur' from the old cactus.
Tiny was cut away month ago and I can't see any roots. Is there any to stimulate ròots growing?

Hello yukomkom,
well, that is the problem with images. Things can become misinterpreted, if not enough is known by the viewer.
As far as speeding up root development is concerned, you can purchase a substance called rooting hormone. I did buy a small bottle of it many years ago. It was not expensive and even contained a fungicide. It was then sold under the name of "Rootone".
