Shade Cloth % for Greenhouse in Connecticut, USA. Northeast. Zone 6A

I am thinking of 40% shade cloth for my myriad of Opuntia, Euphorbs, Torches, Echeverias, Haworthias, Gasterias. Any info would be welcome. The Greenhouse is only realistic to use from Mid May thru Early November. Heating costs here in Connecticut are outrageous along with electric rates. I am using 6mil Klerks K-50 polyethylene sheeting. I am investigating a twin 8mm to twin 16mm because of the winter snow and ice that we frequently encounter. Any ideas of whether or not I should aim for 40% shade cloth or higher would be great. Thanks.
