I do the preparation of grafting in winter every year.

I cut back Pereskiopsis stocks in this afternoon.
I will sow seeds in July and graft seedlings in September onto newly grown off-shoots of Pereskiopsis.

I use "olive pot", 9 cm square x 18 cm height for grafted cacti.
The usage of pots is different in each year but it is around 200 in service and 100 as spare.
I prepare the spare pots in winter.

Used pots are dipped into water mixed around 5% of bleach and held several days.
They are washed and dried after.
These spare pots will be used next spring. I dried pot yesterday.

The grafting process of seedlings was completed in this morning.
Scions: Ariocarpus (lloydi x godzilla) x godzilla
Since I got seeds from my friend, I am not sure this pollination concept.

All 3 scions were grafted successfully. The photo is one of them.

Seeds of ariocarpus fissuratus cv godzilla given by my friend were sown on 16th July 2019.
12 seeds were germinated.
4 of them were completed the grafting and 7 are under the grafting process.
1 of them grows very slowly. I am waiting it to reach the possible size of grafting.
The photo is the slow growing seedling.

My friend brought 6 seedlings, 3 year olds Ariocarpus fissuratus on Monday this week and asked me to graft them.
He said he tried to graft by himself but he failed all.
I normally graft 2~3 months old Ariocarpus seedlings and 3 years old is too old for my grafting method.

6 Pereskiopsis off-shoot cuttings were set for rooting on Tuesday and grafted them on Wedsday, yesterday.
I am not quite suer but I will wait the result.

Thanks for sharing your progress so far.

I am still waiting for new shoots of pereskiopsis to reach size.
Since where I live now weather is cooler they took longer to start growing again. I am expecting a reduced period of time in which I can graft.

Looking forward to seeing your progress!

G'morning waker87,

Do you use any fertilizers?
I use old chicken pellet manure for Pereskiopsis.

Hi Frank,
I use blood and bone fertiliser and also soluble fertiliser.

It snowed where I live now so it gets very cold, still in Victoria.
