Straightening Out Euphorbia Ammak?
Straightening Out Euphorbia Ammak?
I bought some Euphorbia Ammak cuttings that have curvature in the spine. Now I learn that these curves tend to only get worse as they grow, and eventually the spine breaks if the curvature is severe enough. Is there any way we can train the plant to grow more vertically as it grows? I am wondering if you could fashion something almost like a brace that would put pressure in on the outward bending section, while applying resistance against the curvature on the top? Does anyone sell a device that helps to do that with a three to six-foot plant?

Yes, I'm sure with a strong stake and suitable straps etc, you'd be able to get it straighter. You may need quite a lot of padding round the straps to avoid damaging the stems. Variations around this are used to train bonsai, bending small branches to make better shapes etc.
As ever, beware of Euphorbia sap, it's toxic and caustic.
