Adenium rot?

Post by Cactipack »

My adenium obesum had some suspicious squishy spots so I decided to unpot and check the roots. I found a couple of black spots like the picture on the caudex. Should I cut them out and repot it?

That sounds like a good plan. Because it is the dry/hibernating season for Adeniums, I wouldn't give any water for a few weeks after you repot. Water sparingly after that just to mitigate some of the shrinkage that is sure to occur. Being in So. Cal. the humidity should keep it from drying out too quickly.
Disclaimer: I'm in sunny Arizona, so any advice I give may not apply in your circumstances.

Thank you Tim! How often do you recommend watering this species during Winters in So Cal?
