Appropriately potted?
Appropriately potted?
I've began the process of moving seedlings (F. wislizeni) out of humidity. After much indecision, I decided I'd take them out of humidity. I planted them w each in 2" (5cm) pots. Is this about right?
I planted these July of last year (2019). I'm keeping them outside now that they're out of the humidity (on a warm patio)Los Angeles, California (USA)

Ferocactus wislizeni grows quite fast so i'd say this is about right. Even if overpotted/underpotted, you can get around it with how much and how often you water

Yeah, I'd agree, looks about right for larger, vigorous species in your climate.
If they were something slower / smaller I'd go 4 or even 6 to a pot (small Escobarias, or Turbinicarpus, for example).

I would add some rocks or grit on the top of soil to support stems and let them stay straight.
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

I noticed them falling since really they sprouted and wasn't quite sure what to do with it. This sounds like a pretty reasonable step to take

I pot mine a bit deeper so they stand upright. But yours will do fine like that as well. Consider some top dressing to preserve moisture and tidy up appearance. It will also help the seedling stand upright. And yes, that species grows fast. I have some that are ~4 years old and the size of a softball.
