Niklas in Sweden here.
I have had a few cactuses during 45 years, but it is just the last 10 years that I have been successful keeping thethem alive and sometimes flowering. Mineral substrates made my cactuses happy.
I have about 15 cactuses om my balcony. Mostly columnars like Stetsonia, 2 trichos and 2 Oreocereus but I also have Peterocactus australis and the suculent Euphorbia heptagonica.
I let the cactuses live outside as much as possible, in the sun but dry under roof, just taking them indors during longer periods of freezing. They can handle few hours of freezing.

Hello Niklas,
welcome to this forum of succulent and cactus nuts.
You seem to be preferring columnar cacti. Those do at times grow rather quickly and I hope, that you do have enough vertical space in your house to accommodate them.
I do have two columnar cactus plants - both Pachycereus marginatus - which I have kept alive by having them planted at the south side of my house and protecting them from freezes by placing a plastic cover over them. Fortunately, our winters have been rather mild the last few years.

Thanks for your welcomeing!
My cactuses are hard grown, slowly in crushed rocks. They grow about 10% of their length every year and will be small for many years to come.
Not much to show.

Sun shining, but only 2 degr C / 33 degr F.
I just moved the cactuses inside for the night.
I had to chop away alot of the pics to make them small enough.
