Vegetative propagation of Astrophytum ornatum kikko

Post by bikram »

I have purchased a ornatum kikko 2 years back which is grafted on hylocereus stock. It's not flowering yet so thinking of propagating by grafting. what will be the best way .....
1. Areole grafting ?
2. Chopping the head and graft on some other stock while waiting for the chopped part to produce pups?
currently i have ferocactus , harrisia and stenocereus stock available with me .

if anybody have done earlier please share picture.
Thank you.

To cut 2-3 cm above the stock. This fellow gives roots easily as all Astrophytums. The grafted part will give new growth. (IMHO, IMHO)
