Just ought to check if huernia is quirky like other succulents. Ive read partial sun and coarse soil.
Lost my last one due to..likely root and stem mealybugs. Any advice?

I intend to wash the roots(instead of brushing them).

i treat this plant like any other cactus in my collection... kinda like peace lilies, they get a little wrinkled when they need some water then plump right back up. only water when they start to wrinkle. as far as soil is concerned, i just use a regular succulent soil, heavy on the inorganics.

Agree, less organic soil and moderate shade for me. They turn reddish when exposed to too much sun. Cuttings root easily for me too so always try to root cuttings in case of root rot.
