Mammillaria herrerea pale pink flowers and M. humboltii darker red flowers. Almost look alike when not flowering and when small.

Re: Some cactus today
Hello Keith,
those two Mammillaria spp. (herrerae and humboldtii) are both very pretty. They and also M. teresae, M. hernandezii and probably several more within that genus could almost persuade me to also grow a good assortment of Mammillaria spp.

Re: Some cactus today
Hi hegar, the prettiest are the harder to grow as usual. If i where you I would grow them in pots under 50% shade and bring them out of the freezing weather during Winter. herrerae can take the heat they did fine in Phoenix AZ in my benches under 50% shade cloth. They also did fine in the winter there but its not that cold.
So many nice mammillarias and they keep finding new ones and most of them they stay small .

Re: Some cactus today
Hello Keith,
those two cacti are also some of my favorite ones. Those dense white spines, closely held to the spherical body make the Mammillaria herrerae look so "clean", it is almost unreal! Then the cactus even tops that, by producing pretty pink flowers. What is there not to love?

Testing out new phone camera to Email to Snipping tool to post here. Snipping tool compresses pictures the picture editor wont get the images small enough using the easy button that shows up. I would have to remember the exact size to put in as a custom size.

Hi abhikjha
Echinocactus horizonthalonius once up from seeds are pretty easy for me to grow but they would like it hotter. they would flower more if it was hotter because when I lived in AZ they flowered all the time and now just once and awhile. In a tropical climate they would like the heat but not the humidity so probably a very porous soil and protect from rain.
