Advice for baby offsets

Post by Sun_Love »

More newbie questions :) I repotted some new additions and at the same time took babies from 2 of them. You can see the sizes of them compared to toothpick and the bigger pot. I wonder if they are so small the pot should be moist all the time? or water them, then let dry out? I also find it kind of difficult to see if the soil is moist enough on the pumice compared to normal soil (if they should be constantly moist that is)
Lower down in the pots is a mix of cactus soil/pumice/perlite. I put all pumice on top as I think it looks nicer.
The last pic is of mama cactus ( I don't know the name of the species)

1 Echeveria peacockii (aff)
2 Lobivia hertrichiana (aff)
IMHO
I give water constantly in hot weather and give soil to dry when night temps drop significantly.

They should be allowed to dry out between waterings. They're likely to rot if kept constantly moist.

OK thanks guys! Those tiny pots dry out quickly so I guess I will water when dry.
