Can you graft any non cactus succulents to a cactus?

Hey I was just wondering if any species of non cacti succulents would graft on to a species of cactus. I feel like the obvious answer should be no, but I've seen a couple videos on YouTube where it looks like this has been done and the graft has taken. I haven't really been able to find any information on Google confirming or denying this. Any experience or information would be appreciated.

No, in general you can't graft other plants onto cacti. A possible exception is species from closely realted families, e.g. Didiereaceae, which is quite closely related to cacti.

So of the plants shown in the video, the cactus grafts could of course be successful, and, intriguingly, also the Portulacaria afra. The Crassulaceae would not work.

I remember a member here successfully grafting a Portulaca grandiflora to a Pereskiopsis.

Remember that our concepts of plant classification and taxonomy are humanity's own attempts to make order out of plants. There are likely a handful of plants whether succulent or not that have compatibility to graft to cactus that just need to be discovered. As a general rule of thumb though, a succulent will not graft to a cactus with a few specific exceptions.

I did it for fun. It was short-lived as a scion.

Portulaca grandiflora f. albiflora grafted on Pereskiopsis stem. It had bloom later a few times, but live just few month.

I think what's happening there is the scion is drawing nourishment from the stock, but they don't actually grow together. The wound never heals.
