G'day keith,
You running out of room ?
Yes it is.
Cacti seedlings grow slowly but you have to repot when they grew and pushed pots out.
As the result you need more room.

G'morning oriky,
it's seems like the miracle start to show is character, - the flecking mutation and the flecking destiny
am i right? finally one of my holy grail in my collection?
It seems:
The gene of miracle kabuto is mixed.
The flecking mutation has not started yet.
One of parents is not miracle kabuto. It may be a oibo kikkou kabuto.

Since a miracle kabuto is covered over by dense flecking, the varigation does not have any meanings.
You should buy seeds of "white miracle kabuto" when you need true miracle kabutos.

The attached photo is a typical young miracle kabuto in my place, which shows the flecking mutation.

The germination process of Ariocarpus hybrid was completed in this morning.
4 pots were moved from the heating pad to a wet box in the greenhouse.
I will select 24 seedlings and will graft them in October.

G'day eamnav215,
How do you control damping off?
The trigger of damping off is too wet soil which is the soil just after watering.
If you could minimize the frequency of watering, you can make less chance of damping off of seedlings.
I use permeable materials as the potting-mix and these materials can hold moisture longer.
As the result, I can minimize the frequency of watering.

Pots with seedlings are accommodated in a large plastic box with a lid.
A capillary mat is laid on the bottom of the box.
When the mat was dried up, I water over the mat, not over pots. The watering over mat is around once per month in summer.
seedlings are never covered over by water.

Hi Frank,
Could you show us what the capillary mat looks like?
What size and how numerous are the holes in the bottom of your seed trays?
As always, thank you for generously sharing your skill and knowledge.
