Plant not looking well

Does anyone have any idea of why this plant is looking sickly?
Does it need more water? Thanks!

It looked a bit more lively a month ago - as you can see in the pics.

Looks like a Sempervivum, usually these color changes are due to light... so I'd suggest more light if you want the redder color to it? It does look a little blotchy though, and I'm not fully sure.
The bottom leaves make me think it's in the early stages of etiolating (not enough light), but it doesn't seem to be advancing from your most recent picture.

Its outdoor plant and looks well only in direct sun and fresh air.

How dry is it? They can take quite a bit of water (they can be grown outside in the UK all year round, without any rain protection).

It was fairly dry. I gave it a good watering yesterday to see if that would help. So I’ll try more sun along with not letting it become over dry and see how it goes. Thanks!

What are all the components of the soil mix you are using? If that is the same soil it was in when you bought from the nursery, I would definitely repot in a fast-draining soil. If you do not know how to make your own then try a commercial cactus mix and add 50% perlite or pumice.

My Sempervivums thrive in full shade and in very dry soil. Unless you are not watering it for three or four weeks, I doubt that underwatering is the problem.

Yes that is the pot and soil that the plant came in. I was a bit suspicious when the top of the soil was covered in moss. I have a cactus soil mix I can use to replant it. Thanks!
