Hi guys.
One of the the first cactus I got was from home Depot. I don’t think they took good care of it and the base of the cactus was just small. I had it for about 8 years now and it has grown so much! I keep the cactus outside in warmer weather and inside when it gets cold. My cactus is a little lumpy because of it but nonetheless it has been thriving pretty well. Last summer I noticed it was leaning towards one side, so I put two bamboo pieces to hold it up and rotated it so it could grow towards the sun. But it’s not working too much thing year. Is this normal? How do I correct it?
I had seen a picture of a similar cactus and they had it hanging upside down and I loved how that looked. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to make this possible?

I think it's normal for this cactus' stem to lay down and crawl but you are to decide till witch moment to keep it vertical.

I think your plant is a parodia( notocactus) in my opinion
Location : Sri Lanka, tropical climate, no winters.

Agreed with Russell99, looks like Notocactus scopa it' seldom leaning but often clumping with age. Yours is nice one. Maybe a soil is too soft? You can try to repot it in more mineral mixture and after all add some gravel on the surface to fix its body.

I'd recommend more sun and less water for any cactus showing so significant yearly gain as on the photo. Mineral mixture would be also helpful not only for support but for healthy looking and more robust appearance.
