What are these growths on my Pachypodium?

Post by hiawog »

My Pachypodium gaeyi has shown outstanding growth this year, and overall it looks healthy. However, I recently noticed these strange growths near the base of the plant, and I can't identify them.

Does anyone know what this is? Some kind of pathogen? The only other negative signs I've seen are a a few brown leaf tips.

Thank you so much for your help!!

Looks like additional roots, neither fungi nor malignant. IMHO

If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

I sincerely appreciate everyone's help. I will update this thread as I see any changes...

They don't quite look like branches to me, but I really don't know. Roots seem more likely. The climate here is quite humid, and maybe it was trying to get more moisture? Strange though.
