Grafting pereskia species onto other cacti

Post by KonureKing »

I really have been getting into the idea of creating grafting oddities. Until recently I thought pereskiopsis was as close to a "normal" plant as a cactus could be. Now I know about pereskia and my curiosity is getting the better of me. Have any of you grafted any pereskia species onto a different type of cactus? I really like the idea of being able to put true leaves on other cacti. What species of pereskia do you think would be best for this. I'd probably use opuntia as the stock plant since it has so many pads I could graft a lot of different things on it all at once to make a real monster. If you have any advice on this type of grafting I'd really appreciate to hear about it. I'd also like to see pictures of your grafting oddities if you have any.

I'd say that if you really want to d this with Pereskia and not Pereskiopsis, try Pereskia Grandiflora. It has showy flowers, big leaves, and is relatively easy to find (that is, in comparison to other Pereskias)
Trade with me :) Always looking to expand my collection! :D
