Success or horror stories growing Hoodia seeds?
Do any of you have experience growing Hoodia from seed?
Re: Success or horror stories growing Hoodia seeds?
Hoodia gordonii was easy to grow from seeds, at least the first few years. I gradually lost all my seedlings after a few seasons when they were about 3 centimeters high. I think they might be a bit more susceptible to draft or cold in general. If you avoid this, they should be fairly easy, I reckon. I grow most of my plants "hard" with lots of fresh and cold air in autumn and spring. Very good for most species both American and African, but not so much for some others. Hoodia might be one of those.
I haven't tried them again since, though. So I can't say avoiding cold and draft will do the trick.
