Two different friends came by yesterday with cactus cuttings for me. Does anyone recognize their IDs

As the moderator of this section I should say you are asking a lot of identification requests. But if you do, at least follow rule 1 of the identification rules. See viewtopic.php?f=3&t=45443 for the rules, of which I am pretty sure you know them already.

The first one kind of looks like Echinopsis schickendantzii but the thorns are the wrong color. I was thinking maybe Stenocereus thurberi... Would be extatic if it were a saguaro

As to the second I was looking at Stenocereus queretaroensis, but there are several others that also look like it...

I'm leaning towards Pachycereus pringlei on the first, and Stenocereus queretaroensis on the second.
What think you?

1 looks like Marshallocereus thurberi
2 Cereus sp?

I think that's a good call. I understand it is grown in Mexico as a fruit species, so probably widely available.

Bear in mind that for the north Europeans on this site, we don't get to see many large columnars as adult plants!
