Hi everyone!
I have bought a few small cacti and for two of them I'm not sure what is the species.
On llifle I've found species Parodia rutilans. But another cacti grower said that it more like Notocactus ritterianus because of central spines. I've googled images, looks like truth. But Google said that this is the synonym of Parodia mammulosa and for me it is really different species!
To be honest I'm confused...
Is it Notocactus (Parodia) rutilans?

I wouldn't be in a hurry to put names on labels for these. There are a few similar looking species, and spines can vary too (for example P. mammulosa).
You have a good chance of getting flowers on both of these this summer, flower properties, including colour will be a big help in picking a name.

Does not look like Notocactus rutilans since the spination is of the wrong group. N. rutilans is one of the N. muller-melchersii group whose main difference from the N. mammulosus group is the central spines are not flattened but round in section or needle shaped. Notocactus rutilans is one of the pinkish flowered Notocactus = Parodia, therefore you will see the difference when they flower.
Notocactus rutilans.
Notocactus rutilans.
