Astrophytum myriostigma cv kikko
The cactus is still young but it shows a typical kikko pattern. It will be very nice kikko when it reached to a mature age.
Astrophytum asterias starshape
The cactus is a young super kabuto which is not turned to "star" yet.
You have to wait several more years.

I surprised, it's a very good news to me, waiting forward to see how it will be developing into a very nice kikko
I considered it a fairly mature cactus and didn't expect something more from it.

1st one should be a myriostigma cv hakujo rokkotsu
hakujo: white lines on rib tops
Number of ribs are 5. It may be mixed some other genes but it is still myriostigma becuse of 5 ribs.
2nd one should be a hybrid, hakujo fukuryu banjyaku
Number of ribs are 7.
It can not call as myriostigma because of 7 ribs.
Banjyaku is a hybrid, ornatum x myriostigma.

Thank you, Frank! I thought that "rokkotsu" stands for white lines on rib tops. So what does the word "rokkotsu" mean then? Just "rib"?

I see! Of course, young myriostigma can only have 3-5 ribs
I learn from your comments so much! Thank you

G'evening katerina,
So what does the word "rokkotsu" mean then? Just "rib"?
Yes rokkotsu means rib bone of chest.
The base form is kikko but rokkotsu has smoother rib form.

Last year I lost interest in some cacti and decided to plant them in one pot to save some space. These guys seem to like a company and a big pot. They've doubled in size and look prosperous. I even had to change a pot to a much bigger one. Notocactus leninghausii even was in flowers first time. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of this event, only videos.

That grouping looks great! The Ferocactus latispinus is a favorite of mine. I have a few. This one has yellow orange spines...making me think it's either a variation from F.L. or a cross between FL and FL flavispinus ( which has all yellow spines). I don't know. My others are all red spined.

Wow, it's beautiful! It's one of my favorite too. Thank you for sharing your favorite one!
Actually it looks so nice and grows so fast I even think of having some more Feros. I hope to find F. gracilis v. coloratus and F. horridus f. brevispinus with thick black spines.

I had some fun this summer with Cereus forbesii spiralis and Melocactus pachycanthus. These pictures still make me smile. I hope they make you smile too
