Dragonfruit grows well for me so I have never grafted it onto anything. Does it grow well in your climate? If so, you won't really get much benefit from grafting it. It can be easily propagated via grafting. Someone on here has grafted areoles to Pereskiopsis and gotten good results. I can't remember where the post is

If I understand grafting correctly, the scion inherits the growth speed of the rootstock (to some extent), so if you graft your dragon fruit on a rootstock that grows faster than Hylocereus you should see a difference as opposed to not grafting at all. As dubious as I am of that facebook post, this would make for an interesting experiment.
