A few Ferocactus gracilis seedlings are pure white, should I try grafting them?

Post by Download »

I sowed ~10 Ferocactus gracilis seeds a month or so back and 3 of them are pure white. The pure white ones have not done anything since sprouting while the rest have started growing spines. I assume they are albino with no chlorophyll so they won't grow at all, but I understand with grafting they will grow.

I've never done any grafts before so I'm not sure how well this will work or if it's worth it. I also don't have much in the way of grafting stock I could use. The only thing that might work is some dragon fruit seedlings I started last year and are now about 100mm long.

Thoughts?

They will die for the lack of clorophyl if you don't graft them, try it on your Hylocereus :-)
