Sempervivum from leaf?

Post by Carbo »

Is it possible? I detached some leaves couple of weeks a ago and they seem to root very easily but no shoots...

Of cause, as many other Crassulaceae (Sedum, Echeveria, Kalanchoe, Crassula etc).

It takes time, but they will grow new leaves. Have patience.

I planted them in soil when I saw roots developing and a lot of them died, should I leave them be for longer until I see shoots forming and then plant? They seem more finicky than echeverias

I wouldn't disturb them until they've grown a shoot. They obtain nutrients by absorbing the original leaf, they don't need to be in soil until after that.
