Euphorbia abdelkuri seeds in Australia?

Post by Download »

I'm not sure how much luck I'll have, but does anyone know of any sources of Euphorbia abdelkuri seeds in Australia? I'm not even sure how difficult they are to grow from seeds.

That is a difficult quest you got there ! I have never come across seeds for abdelkuri in seed shops, nor many other rare euphorbias. I would guess that, due the high price abdelkuri sells for, especially the damask variant, growers will probably hold on to their seeds. On top of that Euphorbia seeds don't seem to be viable very long, which complicates the trade, and you'd run into a high risk of spending alot on old seeds. Your best bet would be a local hobbyist, who has both female and male plants... or just pay the price for the plants ;)

I have also looked and have been told by multiple growers that they've never seen these plants produce seeds. I would recommend buying a grafted plant, my grafted abdelkuri is growing like crazy and I'll soon be able to chop and prop.
