Eriosyca identification

Post by Mandramunyak »

Hello guys,

I have bought three cacti recently from a local nursery.
However those guys are not that keen on puting the latin names of their seedlings and plants...
So now I have two Neoporteria and one Eriosyce (screenshots top to bottom). Can you please help identifying the right species

They are all Eriosyce sensu Kattermann, none are Neoporteria sensu stricto but what would have been called Horridocactus in the past. The first one is E. taltalensis I think.

Neoporteria flowers sensu stricto always have the inner petals clustered around the stigma and these never reflex to form an open rotate flower.

Read about Kattermann's taxonomic tree concept for Eriosyce -> Neoporteria taxa, but from what I can find online, cannot place the second and third plants under a specific specie or specie complex... any ideas??? #-o its either the flower that is different or the plant appearance has nothing in common... spination is relative, because of the light conditions that differ for every specimen

For the second one I could suggest Eriosyce crispa var.huascensis
