Driving me nuts
Driving me nuts
I have been down the rabbit hole trying to identify this. Haven't gotten a real answer anywhere. I keep getting the generic "cereus peruvianus" answer. I've had it for two years (rescued from a bar) It's almost 7' tall, has never produced flowers or fruit. Last year it grew a piece off the top about a foot long. Lopped that off and this year it grew three more. Any help would be appreciated. all attached photos are of the same cactus except the last one which is last year's baby.
Edit: so after cutting off the piece last year, my wife wanted to keep this small slice. Yesterday I noticed this....pictures attached. After seeing this someone mentioned it may be a cereus jamacaru? Thoughts? Also how darn cute is this nubbin lol

Very cool!
Re: Driving me nuts
Thanks. I have a love/hate relationship with it right now lol. I've never had such a hard time figuring out what something is. Was leaning towards hexagonus, but to be honest I don't really have a clue.

Re: Driving me nuts
I thought this one only branched from the base and mine is 7' and only grows from the tippy top lol. The spines look alot bigger on this one as well. Aside from that it definitely looks like it. Thank you.
