Re: 3 IDs
A strong second possibility for #3 is Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus. It is very, very similar to M. pectinifera.
Catch a falling star--but don't try it with a cactus!

Thank you! How can I differentiate them?fanaticactus wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:13 am A strong second possibility for #3 is Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus. It is very, very similar to M. pectinifera.
And nobody has an idea for the second one? Thanks!

By flower location: Turbinicarpus flowers grow from the tip of the stems. Flowers and buttons of M. pectinifera will appear in a ring around the stem.diezcielos wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 3:32 pmThank you! If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

Thank you for your explanations. I looked on Google Image, and I understand better now. I'll know when it blooms!7george wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:22 pmBy flower location: Turbinicarpus flowers grow from the tip of the stems. Re: 3 IDs
Unfortunately differentiating species out of flower often comes down to comparing proper botanical descriptions rather than just looking at pictures. However few these days buy books containing such descriptions. One of the first things a collector should learn is how to read a proper botanical description.
Luckily you can often find descriptions and not just pictures on the Web if you search.
