Looks like Gymnocalycium quehlianum. But I think it is better to wait blooming and check with flowers.
Best regards,
Alexander

Thank you, Alessandro, I agree that it looks like quehlianum.
However, I have three quehlianuns and they don't have all this white "stuff" in the areoles, and the spines are less straight.
I don't know the range of the species's variability.
Let's wait for the flowers.

Otherwise, I have a whole gang of Gymnos to identify...considering post here...

Thanks a lot!

G. quehlianum has great range of variety. I know about 6 synonyms, and ~ 10 variants. Long time ago I did seedlings from my plants seeds and these all were different by spine colour, number, ribs' number and colour of bodies.

Here is one of those seedlings:

But your plant also can be G. alboareolatum, Gymnocalycium baldianum v. albiflorum, G. robustum (less likely) or something similar. The flowers will say more.

Come on, give us more Gymnos for ID! 8)
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

Wow you quehlianum from seed is quite different, and very beautiful.

My plant can be a quehlianum, indeed. But alboareolatum looks closer and is a good name to keep in mind while I don't have a flower.

I'll surely post more of my Gymnos. I'll create a thread "identifying my Gymnos" to do that.

Thanks you very much
