Site Move Update

Post by daiv »

Hello everyone.

The site should be fully functional now and everything has been updated to the latest version. You can finally post again, but you may encounter some missing images. The problem is that the old host has some limits on the server which prevent more efficient ways of transferring. We just need to wrestle those last remaining files away from the old host and then we will be good for the long run.

If you notice any issues, please feel free to contact me about it. The fastest way would be via email: daiv@cactiguide.com

In the meantime, I will be strategizing the other updates on the site that I've put off so long because of the need for a better host.

Thank you for your patience all this time!

Daiv
EDIT: For some dumb reason, I first posted this under identification. I must be a real noob! #-o

Wonderful that CactiGuide is back!

Update - the forum images should all be there at least for all of 2021 as of this post. I will keep an eye on it and update as we go. So far, everyone is reporting in good performance on the new server.

On thing I noticed: I suspect the email notification when you receive a private message is not working properly. At least for me, even though the preference is set to send me an email when I get a private message.

Ah! You are correct. I haven't configured the email yet on the new server. Will get that squared away soon.

The BCSS (Tony Roberts) kindly posted the fact that we were back for those on both forums:-

Seemingly appreciated it is much faster than before?

I must admit that holidays without cactiguide was a bit boring. Welcome back and happy new year to all.
