Haworthia parent cross identification

Post by geotrox »

I crossed the two Haworthias pictured below, and have successfully been able to get some seedlings to the 4/5 leaf stage. I was hoping that someone could look at the parents (actually just the pollen donor) and confirm the species/varieties. I would like to have the parentage line as accurate as possible (I know... I know...). The female/seed plant is definitely Haworthia angustifolla var. liliputana.

The pollen donor was originally labeled as 'Haworthia turgida var. augustifolia', but online image searches don't look anything like it, so I feel the originally was just mislabeled. I believe it to actually be Hawothia mucronata var. habdomadis. It is probably my largest and most prolific offsetter of all my Haworthia specimens. I imagine the spined leaf margins would be diagnostic in part. I'm looking forward to seeing the final fruits of this cross of "David and Goliath". Fingers, toes and eyes crossed! I'll follow up with pics once they get larger and can tell more about the phenotypes of the cross.

First pic is of the VERY dwarf Haworthia angustifolla var. liliputana.
Second pic is of the specimen in question.
Thanks for your thoughts!
Cheers,
George

I've had some others suggest that it's a Haworthia cooperi var. cooperi? Thoughts?

They can be hard to tell apart, frankly, but the way that one is spilling out of its pot reminds me of my H. marumiana var, batesiana (that's the smooth-leaved form). The species offsets very prolifically.
