I think California has similar climate as mine, we have dry hot summer, and cold wet winter. I keep the plants outdoor under the pergola, just to protect from the frost. It can be challenging during the winter months, but I just let it be, and it survives with lots of flower during warmer months.
I have few different species of Ceropegia, they all grow under the same condition.
I like the unusual shape of their flowers. You might want to try, just give it a bit of protection during winter months. The most common one is the Ceropegia woodii, they are quite cold hardy, smaller but similar flowers.

Thanks Evan! Will consider that next time I post.

That's encouraging, thanks.

Thanks Evan!
I had quite a few other succulents in flower, but too busy, no time to take proper photos, maybe next year I will be better prepared.

The flower have yeasty smell. In nature, it pollinate by gerbils which fed on nectar.

Gorgeous euphorbias. I have found many to be much sweeter smelling than I had imagined. Your gh is an assault on the eyes, but in a good way, it probably smells excellent too, though I wonder if all the different scents war with each other or synergise pleasantly.
Growing some succs and cacs in mid/coastal Scotland.
