Chloride AZ Cemetery

Not your usual cemetery but think of how much they save on lawn maintenance!

Did you happen to see the oldest date on a gravestone? I'd think maybe 1820's.

I saw some from the 1800's and many without markers but the American period in this area started in the 1840s and Chloride came into it's own later than that. There is some open range ranching there now.

When you look online, you could see some funny tombs of this cemetery.
And oddly enough the main entrance sign used to be much higher and a 'real' entrance.

I would not mind ending up there (eventually). At least up there there is a good chance eternity really will be eternity. I don't expect a mall or another district of houses planned to be build up there in such a remote and pretty area.
