Could I have some help IDing a cactus?

So I got this cactus a few months ago, and haven't been able to identify it. While this probably isn't a very helpful lead, it looks vaguely similar to some of the ones I have that are echinopsis, so maybe? Sorry, I'm fairly new to this and am not good at identifying cacti.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like a Ferocactus with short spines.

Yes a Ferocactus, maybe F. pottsii

F. pottsii doesn't have hooked spines, which this one is beginning to produce.

Young Ferocacti can be hard to identify because the juvenile spines don't display the full characteristics of the mature ones. Give it plenty of sun and in a couple years you might be able to pin down the species. It does look like a Ferocactus, though.
