I am am newbie so I am not sure if this look on the cacti is normal for a Parodia Oculta?

This a normal look of culture grown Parodia. What exactly bothers you about this plant?
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

AKA Parodia subterranea var. occulta, or Notocactus occultus. It is kind of a weird one - in the wild it grows mostly underground, almost impossible to find when not in bloom.
