Pretty Notocactus

The bud has abandoned development
Selenicereus of some sort
We call it the Octopus Garden
Has these weird Cotton Ball Buds
The day after it's Night Blooming
A neat Columnar cactus cutting that a friend gave meA couple of unknowns
Re: A couple of unknowns

Re: A couple of unknowns
The bristly areoles of the columnar cutting remind me of the flowering stems of Castellanosia caineana (formerly Browningia).
I am interested to see what others make of that Selenicereus since I have one that looks similar that I pinned down as S. pteranthus, but I was never sure.

Re: A couple of unknowns
Agree: P. nivosa or penicillata, considered a synonym.
If your cacti mess in your job just forget about the job.

Re: A couple of unknowns
The one with the cottonball buds truely seems to be a Selenicereus.
We just had that discussion about some Sel. & people told me to check out https://www.cactuspro.com/lecture/Britt ... 73.en.html. That wasn't easy, but it really helped.
Good luck
