Thank you Anttisepp, Mikethecactusguy and Tom in Tucson ๐Ÿ™‚. I am a bit curious about why it was given the name mammilaris? From my point of wiev, the tubercles arenโ€™t more nipplelike than a whole lot of others in the same genus?

I think that Carl Linnaeus 1st named it Cactus mammillaris. Haworth 1st created the genus. Then it was transferred to the new genus Mammillaria by H. Karst. It is the type species in the genus.
