Hello everyone,
I think I have thrips in the soil of my cactus seedlings. The pests are very tiny and silver/white, and they jump or move quickly from place to place. I have only seen them in the soil or outside of the pots, and I have not found any on the seedlings themselves. Can anyone confirm my diagnosis or tell me what they actually are? Does anyone have advice on how to remove them? Photos are attached below, and the pests are circled in red. I did not include a scale marker, but the pictures show 2" square pots in a 1020 tray with poultry grit in the soil.
Are these thrips in cactus seedlings soil?

Hi That look like springtails and if so, shouldn’t be a problem. Look here; https://www.cactiguide.com/forum/viewto ... ls#p387011 And you can also search for springtails here on the forum.
