Help with another stumper.

Post by mikethecactusguy »

I'm stumped with this one. When i acquired it 6 months ago I thought it was an over watered Saguaro. It's grown quickly which rules out Saguaro. Mu next thought was Stetsonia coryne an Argentine Toothpick. I've ruled that out due to color, shape and the fur growing on the top. What am I ?

During the growing period (monsoon) saguaros when young can grow fairly fast, despite what you are led to believe about their slow growth rate. I have seedlings which have almost doubled in size in one season.

So my original id as a Saguaro fits? I still find the one long spine per group to be non-saguaro. No?
