Cacti & Succulents - Botanical Garden - Liège - Belgium

The botanical garden of Liège is one of my favorites. It's run down, but there are plants everywhere and it is truly an experience. The cacti and succulents are but a small part of their program. The garden mainly works because of the hard work and love of the volunteers, which is something I always admire. Somehow such a garden speaks more to me than a neatly organised one. It makes me want to go home and tend to my plants and simultaneously stay there the whole day to enjoy all things growing. The fact that there are very few visitors gives you the feeling it's just you and the plants.

Hello Ohugal,
thank you for posting those interesting & great pictures. Somehow they are very touching -- more so than pictures from a perfect park with perfect, "polished" plants. They really make use of every possible space, don't they?
I like the scattered light in those greenhouses.
Now I have a 2nd cause to come to Belgium, Mons & Monsieur Sax being the other one.
N. :-)
